How to Style a Charm Necklace for Any Occasion

Who here loves a good Charm Necklace? Well, you're in luck, because it’s Sunshine here — and today I thought I’d go over a few different ways to style a charm necklace for any occasion.

Charm necklaces can be anything you want them to be — that’s the beauty of it. They’re totally personal and customizable. I love charm necklaces, and they’re so popular for a good reason! What makes them so loved is that they’re fun, playful, and versatile. Whether it’s jeans and a tee for a casual vibe or a fancy dinner out, I love how they instantly elevate any outfit.

Let’s dive into some easy ways to style them!

For a more laid-back look, I’d opt for a dainty chain with one to three dainty charms. One that would totally work and give you inspiration from Jenny Be Free is the “Dainty Coastal Cowgirl Charm Necklace.” It’s super simple and cute with three charms placed perfectly. 

For an evening out, I’d go bolder — whether that’s through layering or mixing metals. If you’re wearing something with a low-cut neckline, I’d go for a longer chain or chunkier base.

For special occasions, consider customizing your charm piece (bracelet, necklace, or anklet) with meaningful symbols — like a locket, birthstone, or initial — something that represents the moment. If it’s a celebration, maybe add a champagne glass charm! It adds an elegant yet personal touch.

Layering is such a fun way to make a simple outfit stand out. Personally, I’d wear a charm necklace with 5–9 charms on a slightly shorter chain, then layer it with a longer chain — either on its own or with a single statement charm.
