Hey everybody—welcome back to our blogs! I know, I know… it’s been a hot minute. But can you blame me?! I’ve been cooking up a lot behind the scenes—and not just a baby 😉
Quick little life update before we dive in…
I gave birth to my sweet angel, Jaxon, and he is oh so perfect. He’s been my whole world lately, along with soaking up time with close friends and family. And in true Jenny Be Free fashion, we’ve also been working on something exciting—we just announced our newest collection, "Game Day" launching very soon, so keep your eyes peeled 👀
Now, let’s get into it…
April is such a beautiful, soft, and airy month (well… for most places that aren’t Calgary—seriously, what’s with these blizzards?!). It’s for the girls who love a good spring refresh: fresh flowers in the vase, afternoon walks in the sunshine, and iced lavender lattes in hand.
Meaning & Symbolism
April’s birthstone is the diamond—hello, a girl’s best friend 💎
Diamonds represent love, strength, and purity.
April Birthstone: What is a Diamond?
Most diamonds are clear, though some can have slight yellow or brown tones. They can also have natural “blemishes” or inclusions, which actually make each stone unique.
Historically, diamonds were worn by warriors and believed to offer protection—seen as powerful, almost invincible stones. The word “diamond” comes from a Greek word meaning unbreakable, which feels pretty fitting.
Fun fact: there was even a time when only a French king was allowed to wear diamonds. Talk about exclusive.
Natural diamonds are formed deep within the Earth and are brought closer to the surface through volcanic activity. The longer they form underground, the larger they can grow. And while Earth has some incredible diamonds, the largest one known isn’t even here—it’s a dwarf star called “Lucy,” estimated to be 10 billion trillion carats 🤯
So honestly, it’s no surprise that diamonds symbolize strength and purity—they’re literally one of the hardest substances on Earth.
